Dr. Doug Adkins

Dr. Doug Adkins is the new pastor of First Baptist Church of Woodstock and brings more than 30 years of pastoral ministry experience. Over the years, he has served churches in Virginia, Alabama, Washington, Oklahoma, and Arkansas in various ministry roles, including senior pastor, executive pastor, worship pastor, and student pastor. Through each of these experiences, he has developed a deep love for people and a desire to help churches faithfully carry out their mission.

For Dr. Adkins, pastoral ministry is about much more than standing behind a pulpit on Sunday morning. He enjoys preaching and teaching the Bible, helping people grow in their faith, encouraging and developing leaders, and walking alongside people through the different seasons of life. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Southeastern Baptist College, a Master of Arts from Pensacola Christian College, a Doctor of Ministry from Cambridge Graduate School, and he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership at Luther Rice College & Seminary in Lithonia, Georgia.

Dr. Adkins and his wife, Donna, have been married since 1989 and have three grown children. They are excited about beginning this new chapter of ministry in Woodstock and are thankful for the opportunity to become part of the community. As they settle into the area, they look forward to meeting their neighbors, building new friendships, and serving the people and families of Woodstock in the years ahead.
